There's some great instruction on FedoraNEWS written by Gavin Henry about being able to upgrade Fedora Core 1 to Fedora Core 2 Test 1 with apt. It might be worth a look if you're interested in upgrading but don't want to download the ISOs. You can find the article here (http://www.fedoranews.org/ghenry/apt-fc2).

A great article, and very professionally presented.

I particularly like the comment at the bottom. :D
Good Luck and what have they done to Nautlilus!!??!!

I think they will be forced to revert Nautilus, I know it will really piss me off.

Just change the gconf key for nautilus, nothing more...

On other things, the update goes well here, no problems at all. The update process seems clean and let me an impressione of clean install which I like.

Can I help with anything here?

Actually Yes. I just tried downloading the files starting with "beecrypt" and I got "file not found" errors
I have the iso's burnt to disk, and have successfully installed from them previously, but was having issues installing rpm's and other isues so I re-installed FC1. I had thought FC2-test2 was going to be out tomorrow, now I understand it won't be out until the 29th. Should I just wait, or go for the gusto since I have the time?

Well, if you want to keep the latest packages, I would stick with FC1 just now. FC2-Test2 will be out soon, so I would hang tight for that. As soon as the apt repositories are updated, I will redo my howto if there are any more Gotchas. This way, more things should be sorted and a little more stable, than with Test1. The choice is still yours however, just my thoughts.
