I had a similar problem. I even tried installing FC1 and then upgrading to FC2. I was finally able to make it work by doing the upgrade in text mode. I can only assume doing the install from text mode will also work.

How much RAM are do you have on the system? I've noticed this problem happens due to insufficient RAM. Fedora Core 1 had lower RAM requirements for install than Fedora Core 2 has. Check the release readme file.

Try the asus p4p800 boot iso and in the BIOS set the SATA mode to encahnced mode / SATA only.
Works for me.
My config:
ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe
Prescott P4 2.8HT
512 MB Kingston DDR Dual Channel
2x80 GB Maxtor PATA HDD
2x200 GB Maxtor SATA HDD
ATI Radeon 9200SE

Try disabling L2 Cache in BIOS during instalation. Remember to run it back on after. Are you getting any kind of error? Maybe try putting this into the main thing where it gives u options etc. boot: linux text. Your monitor might not be signaling. I had the same problem, but boot: linux text should work. Just try it tell me what you get.

Hi : read bugzilla 121819..there you will find #132 by arjan.. burn his iso...... boot whit this iso and eventually you will have to change to the regular iso1...iso2 ..iso 3 iso 4
when you are done...go to read this :
here : http://fedoranews.org/updates/FEDORA-2004-137.shtml
Update Information:
An updated kernel is available that brings the kernel to the 2.6.7-rc3 base
level. This new kernel provides a significant number of bug fixes and
improvements for USB, the keyboard/mouse subsystem and the VM. This kernel
also fixes the high profile bugs about not working on VIA C3 processors
(#120685) and Asus P4P800 motherboards (#121819). In this new kernel
firewire no longer oopses during boot and has been re-enabled, however we
consider firewire support still somewhat experimental and recommend
extensive testing before using firewire in a production environment.
downloaded kernel-2.6.6-1.435.i686.rpm and burned it to a CD
1) Boot from first FC disc to get to rescue mode
2) When in rescue console type: chroot /mnt/sysimage
3) Mount the cd: mount -t iso9660 /dev/hdc /mnt/cdrom
4) cd to kernel location: cd /mnt/cdrom/whatever
5) Install the new kernel: rpm -ivh kernel-2.6.6-1.435.i686.rpm
if it complains about the package being already installed, use rpm -ivh --force kernel-2.6.6-1.435.i686.rpm
5) Reboot, you should see two fedora options at boot, choose the latest
You can search in this forum fot my name copter and this guy superbnerd and you will find all I'm telling you...because I already made this journey to FC2 in a p4p800 mobo
luck
