I have just installed fedora core 1 as a dual boot on my pc...here are the specs:

intel d865PERLL mobo (built-in intel 8280IEB AC'97 audio controller)
P4 2.4c Ghz processor (with hyperthreading)
1 GB ddr400 memory
NEC FE791SB monitor
linkys wmp11 wireless pci nic

I have not been able to get fedora to recognize the monitor, audio, or linksys nic. Can anyone help, or point me in the right direction? I am a complete linux noob. thanks.

For the monitor try these settings:
Section "Monitor"
Identifier "NEC-FE791sb"
HorizSync 30.0 - 96.0
VertRefresh 60-160
EndSection

If Fedora does not detect your audio card, you may what to try the ALSa driver. Check out http://freshrpms.net/docs/alsa/ for more info.

I have no clue on the linksys wireless card (I mostly use orinoco cards).

First of all, you aren't a "noob" or a "n00b", the word is newbie or novice, try to write english.

Wireless is sometime troublesome. Some wireless cards aren't supported, in fact, many aren't. Check that your card is supported.

About sound, try installing ALSA. The freshrpms guide has a link to my more detailed guide: http://foolish.digitalinc.info/docs/alsa/
