Hi
Just a few days back I started getting a strange problem - while using Gnome the keyboard stops working. The touch pad and its keys continue to work.

Once and only once rebooting and relogging corrected the problem - now its a permanent affair. So am using either Xfce or KDE.

What could be the problem ??

theres a related link at http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27578
but there are no expert replies hence this second new topic.

regards
Ram

The solution I am providing below is singularly untechnical and maybe its not even a solution but it seems to work for me. More importantly i don't know why.

After logging onto a session in which the keyboard works open terminal and type switchdesk gnome

use for a while and do "switchdesk kde" or whatever other environment you use.

Log of and relog on and Gnome should work

don't ask why. I don't know why ? thats were the real techies need to answer.
