I am currently using 10 MB (1%) of my 1000 MB GMAIL account. Normally, I don't save email that I don't need (or anything for that matter) but for some reason I am on a mission fill my gmail account.

Use it as a mountable HD, that'll fill it easy. ;)

I'm using around the same (1%), unfortunatly the gmail proggie didn't want to let me logon in windows, so I'm not using it atm.

One old news:
http://www.tomshardware.com/hardnews/20040927_194824.html
In a challenge to demonstrate the size of the account, he said that he would challenge readers of Tom's Hardware Guide to fill up the complete account with data. "The first user who is able to use the complete space will receive from us a free email account with one TByte space on a dedicated server," Weiss said. "This will be the worlds largest email inbox."
I have 4% used, but it's not my main account, I just redirect backup copies there and use it if I need to transfer large files etc.

Should change soon as it is now my mailing lists address. Gmail rocks for following threaded conversations. :)

Using gmail as a hard drive limits attatchment sizes to 10mb each. So it takes alot of seperate things to fill it up. Although there are people working on having a large file split into 10mb parts or something, so it can still be stored and such.

anyone here who had tried using the service of yousendit.com ?

i tried sending 100+ MB!! well.. the good - you don't need to subscribe/register
bad - anonymous sending.. i tried sending one to myself, but detected it as Spam.. well.. as expected, it needs some adjustments..

OFF topic,

if you get a gmail account, how many invites can you give/send?

I got three gmail accounts, using:

75 MB of my main account

5 MB of my spam account

150 MB of the account I use as storage space

In the end, having three accounts for over half a year resulted for me in a HUGE number of GMail invites *points down* Got 50 invites on both main accounts, 6 invites on my spam account. Anyone interested, lemme know ^^

you start with 0 invites, after a few days you get 6 invites ... and every now and then, you get some more, when my two main accounts were both half a year old, they were given 50 invites each.

edit: of course, that's my case, not sure if it's always like this, not even sure if there's a system behind it, maybe they just hand out invites when they upgrade a server, or get a new one, or whatever

I have only one person who emails to my account and he does that irregularly. I mainly got it, so that I would have one - does that make sense ?
