Hello,
My name is John Stille. I am an administrator of FedoraForum.org. It just so happens that a user by the username abit.tw (on another message forum) is attempting to sell our site. We have no affiliation with this person and he does not represent us in any way. I am placing this note in this thread because FedoraForum.org is not for sale. We are sorry for the inconvienence. We are rather a self sustaining website made for users and run by volunteers, we are not for profit and plan to continue our service to the linux community. This note is to clear any confusion and to prevent anyone getting scammed. We are investigating who this person is, how he/she got our statistics, and why this would be attempted. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please e-mail them to jcstille@fedoraforum.org, or through pm to myself.
We have confirmed that it was an attempt to sell FedoraForum.org through pm's and site statistics matchup. The proper actions are being taken to prevent this from further escalation.
Administrators of the particular forum have been notified, however, it is our philosophy at FedoraForum.org that we promote open communication, that is why we have posted a note to the users. It is our goal that no one gets scammed on this type of deal. We hope that you accept our apologies for any inconvienence this may have caused you. We at FedoraForum.org have no intention of this happening or conducting business in this manner.
FedoraForum.org is non profit and will never be sold like a commercial site, and so we hope you have confidence in our business dealings, and will come to us as a source for information.
John Stille
