hi i don't know how to install my soundcard. can anyone please help. i asked this question on an irc chanel and someone told me to post my /proc/pci, and that it was realy easy to make my soundcard work, can anyone please tell me how.

when answering my question please keep in mind that i don't know jack about fedora nor linux. thanks in advance

1. You will need to disable the integrated sound in the BIOS.
2. Did kudzu pick up your new hardware during bootup?
3. Reboot pc enter BIOS and disable sound and see if that works

this is what i've done so far, disabled soundcard in bios and than some thing asked me what i want to do, i choose "remove configuration" sound didn't work, i went to bios again and enabled the soundcard. some thing asked me what i want to do and i said configure, but the sound still doesn't work.

so any idea what to do now

what soundcard are you trying to install? did you check to see if it was supported?

it worked under mandrake 10 and it works under knoppix so i assume it is supported. another thing that made me think it is supported is that my mobo is more than 2 years old.
