I am considering to buy a AMD 64 notebook. I found few options including:
However, there is no linux test report available for the 2 of the links above. I am trying to buy the $1499 one. Anyone has any ideas of how Fedora Core 3 works in AMD 64 notebooks?

This is from personal experience. I have a compaq presario 2103us 30gb/15 lcd/256ram (now with 512/xp/ and an ati radeon igp 320 for vidoe. I dont play on the laptop but in you want 3d acceleration I recommend a laptod with nvidia becuase it will be much easier to intall linux drivers. Ati is a pain in the butt.

Personally, I avoid COMPAQ like the plague... They assemble laptops based on price, not based on performance or quality.

If compaq build notebook by price, not performace. How about HP?
It this zv5000z good? What is the difference of Athlon 64 Mobile and Athlon 64? The only thing I could think of is the L2 cache in the mobile CPU is smaller. How is the performance?

So far my compaq is doing OK and the mb it uses is an ASUS, so I am pleased with it. Just remember this nothing in life is guranteed just paying taxes and dying.
