Hi -

Ive got a linksys wireless pci card(wmp45gs), and fc3 x86_64. Anyone know how to get this to working with ndiswrapper or some other way?

make install of ndiswrapper-0.12 gave a ton of errors, bc it wants 32bit i assume... looking around here i did not see anything.

thx

I am also trying to find a way to get my wireless working. I have read that NDiswrapper is not supported in 64 bit , but there is a Linuxant product called DriverLoader that is supported for 64 bit , except it also has to have a 64 bit driver , which I also can't find. I wander if there is a way to make a 64 bit driver ? Or else we will have to wait for the next 64 bit Windoz to come out and use that driver (that may be a while) Let me know if you find out anything. Chad

I checked the Linxant site and it seems that there are 64 bit drivers available for the Broadcom . It was extracted from a Win64 Beta OS. I read that someone has gotten the driver to work by using the driverloader wrapper with the 64 bit driver. I wonder if you could use NDisWrapper to do the same ? I read somewhere if you get the source code for NDisWrapper and compile it it may work , only if you have a 64 bit Driver . Here is a link to the Linuxant site , the 64 bit driver is at the top of the list. Chad

maybe, i was unable to install ndiswrapper, it said it was only for 32bit.

i may try this though and see what happens.

This is a dead link that you posted.I will try it again tomorrow. I am going to research on getting NDiswrapper working on FC3_64. I have read if you install 32 bit emulation libraries then there is a way to compile NDisWrapper from a 64 bit enviroment using Multilib. Then you can use the 32 bit chroot enviroment to run the 32 bit NDisWrapper application. If anyone has heard of this please acknowledge . We will figure it out! 64 bit Rules!! Chad

Try this as a replacement for the above dead link:

http://rpmfind.net//linux/RPM/mandrake/10.1/x86_64/media/main/ndiswrapper-0.9-1mdk.x86_64.html

I haven't tried it (yet! ) to see if it works, but I'm going to as soon as I get a chance!

I tried to install this package, however it requires "perl-base' package in which I could not find for FC3_64. I decided to go with the Linuxant DriverLoader. I also used the 64 bit driver for my card that was available from Windows XP_64 Beta. I don't know if other drivers are available , but I Finally got it working!

Downloading my XP Pro 64-bit Edition trial as we speak - any hints on finding/using the driver?

The only 64 bit driver that I have heard of is for the Broadcom cards. Here is a link for info on what is now supported for 64 bit Linux
