Has anyone read http://www.deepsky.com/~merovech/2038.html about the year 2038?
just wondering whether fedora will be susceptible?

I don't think kernel 2.4 or 2.6 is Unix Epoch "safe", but it would be trivial to recompile everything using a 64-bit integer for the time typedef's... once everyone has moved on to 64-bit systems.

I'd be more worried about the CMOS clock in my x86 machine. ;)

Right now it is a problem with 32 bit. I bet all of Fedora Linux will be 64 bit well before 2038. I doubt date calculations will cause the doomsday situation mentioned before. We survived Y2K.

Moved to Fedora Focus.
