When ever I put an audio cd in my nec dual layer burner it reads the cd but I get no sound from it in Fedora, it works fine with the master drive another nec only its an 1100 +rw burner [going to be ripping it out soon for another 3500a.] I am pretty sure its just a crummy hardware setting for the slave drive [the 3500a.] I'm wondering where I can go to change the settings for my cd/dvd drives...

The audio CD software defaults to using the analog cable from the CD drive to output sound. If you have 2 CD drives, and it works with the first one, then that's the one with the analog cable running to your motherboard. If you use xmms to play the CD, you can go through the options and tell it to use alsa as the output and then it will work.

Problem solved just needed to enable digital audio extraction. :)
