Is it something like netmeeting in windows? If so, have you tried gnome-meeting in fedora?

I have the same camera in a dualboot setup (Win98SE & FC3) and only the other OS sees it properly.
OSS solution is not the one.

I've downloaded qce-ga-0.40d.tar but the make genereted lots of errors and warnings ! so skipped.
I've found my philips tuocam II pro works, but after reconnecting, then I got the /dev/video and link....
Then I thought, lets reconnect my logitech messenger, then my keyboard hung, while the cam did'nt work.
( my computer survived the first hard reset, which was needed after that action )
I will try on ...
( done ... ) second time reconnecting did not hang my keyboard ????

Well, another one about the messenger.
I tried the experimental driver from http://qce-ga.sourceforge.net/ --> An experimental driver for QuickCam Messenger was recently written by Mathias Küster
Which gives at best a brownish picture and flashes regular to green and back. So its realy experimental.
Or .... Should I apply the provided patch ; linux-2.6.7-quickcam.patch or linux-2.6.8.1-quickcam.patch
Uhm.... I just don't dare.... how to recover from a broken kernel..... ( )

I Realy hope the compression/ Decompression will be cracked soon.

Sounds good. I won't try it thought, it still not stable enough for me. People who want to try it out, here's the readme: http://home.mag.cx/messenger/source/_README_MESSENGER

Well, The cam is running for a few days now. I make snapshots with program webcam which is in the distribution of fedora 3. But... Is there a way, and how, to control the image of the picture. It is a bit gray-ish. The colors could be more colorfull.
When I use the qcset -..... , the picture changes a bit and then go back to what it was...

I looked into webcams a while back... All new Logitech ones are NOT SUPPORTED (yet) till someone reverse engineers the proprietary Windows drivers. Sorry.

If someone does not believe it works, don't use it, You dare to try, Do so.
I tried to use and the three last versions I'v found , worked well, with some problems.. Okay...
But if you had a Quickcam Messenger, everything is better than nothing. Or by a philips...or some else...
I can tell you, version .4 did work, .5 was better... .8 is almost there I think.
Its realy running together with a philips wich I am using with GnomeMeeting... No problem till now....
Even skype ( you know... ) is running the same time..
