Hello all
is there a possibility to activate PowerNow on my notebook? I compiled the kernel with PowerNow support for K7 and for K7 CPU, also with ACPI and cpufreq. But nothing works - it stays running at full speed (1.6 Ghz), consuming a lot of power even there is an empty desktop with no programs running. I never need this speed anyway, because I'm only writing with Office, a little bit browsing and mailing. I would prefer if the notebook was quiet! But today it's very loud, gets hot and the battery - an additional disadvantage of that - is empty after a short time.
The proof that PowerNow ist working, is Windows. With Windows, the notebook saves power, switching back to 1.3 Ghz. That's still quite a lot, but it stops the loud cooler. Conclusion: there must be a way to manage this also with FC3.
My notebook:
Acer Aspire 1362LC with AMD Mobile Sempron 2800+
Thank you for your help!
