Does anybody have an idea? I was able to mount the drive in Fedora 1+2!

I used to have that problem, but it was corrected for my firewire drive in recent kernels (now using kernel-2.6.9-1.6_FC2 and kernel-2.6.9-1.681_FC3). I had opened a bugzilla report that looks similar to your report, which you can see here (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=131405).

Thanks for reply. My controller is a prolific pl-3507 but i can't see what yours is. The fact is am still having the problem so i commited a bug here (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=141813)
