View Full Version : SoundCard Issue & Boot Scripts

Everytime I go to reboot my computer the sound never comes on automatically the only way I can get sound is if i run the soundcard detection program and hit the play sound button then sound works fine after that is there something that i did wrong i have searched and searched but still no luck HELP!!!!! Also if anyone knows of how to make a program execute when my system starts up like scripts or something of that sort that I can have them run automatically when KDE these two things would both be appreciated thanks in advance...
I am using an HP ze4420us laptop
with Fedora Core 3
Connected wirelessly via Ndiswrapper & My Linksys Wireless G Card...

The wireless detail is interesting, but what is your sound card, and what gets detected? HP says SoundBlaster compatible (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=mx&dlc=es&product=331508&docname=c00249214).
See this about running programs at start up.

The sound card says Vendor: Ali
Model: Corporation M5451 PCI AC-Link Controller Audio Device
Module: snd-ali5451
I checked out hps website and it said that I have an Sound Blaster compatiable one im going to go to windows real quick and see what my windows says i have as far as a sound card and edit this reply thanks for you help!!!!
Aight Back Windows says that what I have is Conexant AMC Audio so if you can help me or if anyone can help me out there it would be appreciated thanks!!!

Im guessing no one out there could help me out with my sound problem no biggie maybe fedora core 4 will fix my soundcard problem automatically cause i dont know what else to do!!!!!!!!!

Thank god that im not the only one having problems with my sound. I been playing around with mine and now all of a sudden mine doeesnt work at all. It use to work after I ran soundcard detection program but now it doesnt even do that hopefully someone will help us Forlorn!!!!!

try to download the GNOME Alsa Mixer and install it on ur system then open Sound & video then Alsa Mixer then check out the Box in Capture Monitor

I'm also having some problems with my sound. I turned on the "Headphone" in Alsamixer and I'm getting sound, but very crunchy. I turned on every other option in the Alsamixer menu, but it still doesn't work. Please help me out.
EDIT:
I turned off every option in the Alsamixer except Headphone and PCM and it's working fine now
