A very strange problem, probably caused by udev, but since this is not really my expertise, I was hoping someone would a know a possible cause for this: why does this scanner only works when using the root-account?
I tried sane-find-scanner as normal user and it does detect a scanner. When I run xsane it doesn't detect anything at all... But, when I login as root, and start xsane, it somehow can find the scanner and I am able to use it (thanks to the creators of this driver btw :)). Before I could even use it with the root account, I had to disable kudzu...
So my guess is that is has something to do with HAL/udev. But I really don't know where to start to solve this or where to change permissions. Can someone help me?
