hello
I want to change my video card from GeForce 2 MX 32 Mb to a GeForce FX 5200 128 Mb .
I'm using Fedora Core 3 and i have the latest NVidia driver installed .
My question is this : after i change my video card , do i have to reinstall , or make any changes to my NVidia driver oe anything else . Because i don't want to have any surprises . FC3 seems to be full of them :D

thanx

Nvidia provides unfied drivers for the GeForce series..... if you're using one of the newer versions of the driver, there should be no need to reinstall your driver.

1) Backup your current xorg.conf
2) Shutdown (poweroff) the computer, put the new card in.
3) Startup and let kudzu do it's thing.
4) Boot to console-only mode or login on a console after startup is complete and init 3
5) Copy your backup over the top of the new one that kudzu wrote
6) Restart X (init 5)

I just put in a Nvidia Geforce FX 5500 128meg...I didn't have to do anything..:) it worked on bootup, kudzu asked to remove the configuration for old card, I said "ok" and that was it.
