Compaq R3000 AMD64 nvidia GeForce4 440 Go

Followed all related material to get the nvidia driivers installed / working. I have obviouslly missed something but have been banging away at this longer that I care to admit.

From the process list, it appears that startx worked but there is NOTHING on the display. It flickered a few times and thne nothing.

Installed:
FC3 x86_64 + yumed all
NVIDIA-LInux-x86_64-1.0-6629-pkg2.run
removed the xorg Mesa GL packages
used several xorg.conf files I found

All produce the same result, it appears to be running but all I get is a blank screen.

Any suggestions?

You can look in /var/log/Xorg.0.log to see if any error is generated. Post it here and someone may be able to help.
