Is the forum getting slower or is just me?

I have noticed a change in responce time of late. Perhaps fedora is getting more popular.

I really couldn't comment on whether or not you are getting slower ;)

As for the forum: to me, things seem much as when I joined nearly three years ago.

this is Community based help forum, what do you expect? 1 millisecond response times? if thats what you want, use RHEL ( hope you have a creditcard to ) im sure Fedora is getting more popular but that wouldnt make a difference in responce times of posts/threads made

It seems about the same to me.

I notice the icons are coming out sluggishly and forum's favicon seems to be spinning longer I.e. the page gets longer to be rendered completely. At least on my browser. That's not how I remember it used to be. I hope it is not because of the ads which I don't get to see them anyway as they are blocked on my side. But I am not complaining. Just asking if anyone else notice it. I hope it is not a technical problem as a big day is coming.

I don't think there are any ads -- at least I don't see any, and am not intentionally blocking any.

Times to render webpages are very variable for me: I'm on a fairly low bandwidth line into the house and it depends a lot on who else is awake and browsing or downloading among my neighbours!

No significant lag in loading here.

There is not a lag at the minute. It comes and goes, it has been happening more of late.

I just loaded this thread. What takes the longest to timeout is pixel.quantserve.com on our end. We're probably blocking it somewhere or it is listed as an ad server in one of my adblocks. The page itself loads fine - it just takes forever to do the final load due to that site.

pixel.quantserve.com seems slow on other people's sites as well, so it isn't here, but it might be them or our proxy server that is ultimately at fault for our connection.

Occasionally the page may fail to load, otherwise it works fine.

@married, you should only see ads if you're not logged in.

Seems to be working fine for me, that is, without being able to quote absolute load times in a strictly scientific and analytical process :) But relative to other sites and forums etc the response speeds for page loads is about the same.

If you are experiencing a noticeable performance/speed issue and nobody else is I can only guess it is a geo-location issue or some local issue with your connection. There is a bunch of variables that can cause a connection problem. For example do you see this only at certain times, is it on every system you use and so on.:)

I didn't know that.

My page loading times are fine on my end.

I have a fibre optic plan at home. So, the response time of the forum is glaringly inferior as compared to other websites that I visited at home. Relatively and subjectively speaking, of course.

Well then, I am happy if it is only me who has this slow perception and nothing wrong with the forum. May be I just need to put a mirror beside my LCD to keep me busy :).
