yum - packagekit updating

I noticed that if I switch between use of yum and packagekit to update the system the repos get checked everytime even after the repo had been checked by one of them and updated. This is really bugging me. Both use the same repos but works like individual programs. One is cli and the other is graphical. :dis:

Ummmm.. They are individual programs.

PackageKit does use yum, but they 2 are totally different applications.

I got the idea that packagekit is the frontend or graphical of yum which is backend using cli. This means if I use packagekit then I cannot switch to yum without refreshing or can I by some tweak?
