Is it safe to remove it completely in fedora 17?
It's completely redundant to have everything use alsa, then you have PulseAudio sitting there and you don't know what to configure.

I just remove alsa-plugins-pulseaudio, which seems to lobotomize pulse.

haha, I had to actually install alsa-plugins-pulseaudio for HDMI audio to work. And use "options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=0 probe_mask=0xYOURCARDHERE" in /etc/modprobe.d/custom.conf
Now I'll have to figure out some way of getting the camera mic to work with flash.
