I have used a lot of distro in the past and as far as i know i do make menuconfig at/usr/src/linux. In FC3 x86_64 there is only /usr/src/redhat . can you please help me because i am lost.
When i run rpm -qa | grep kernel it recognize the kernel but there is nothing in /usr/src exept /redhat.

Thanks in advance and sorry for me English. ;)

try installing kernel-2.6.9-xx.src.rpm, thats the kernel source that fedora provides. :)

The fc3 installer does NOT install the kernel source like previous versions did. If you have the src disks you can install from there or get the src tarball and extract it to /usr/src/linux-<version>, or get the src.rpm and rpm -Uvh it.

1.) Why do you want to recompile your kernel?
2.) Do you have SELinux Active?

I want to clean and diable some things like scsi devices make module the NTFS. I don't know about SELinux i have to read something about it first.
Do you know how i can make a new entry for my new kernel on grub?

thanks
