Hello. I've been scanning forums for a few days, and tried a few different distros, so this doesn't strictly apply to F16, but I'm trying to head towards Red-Hat, as I use it for my servers, and have grown fond of it, and would like to migrate into it as a desktop environment. However, I recently built a new computer, so, first off, I'll let you know my current hardware.

I would provide links for all of these to make looking up their specifications easier, but the forums will not let me. These can all be found on newegg, though.

Now, I've ran into issues with the video card(both integrated graphics, and with the GTS 450), but I've bypassed them with compatibility mode and nomodeset, so, I BELIEVE that this isn't an issue at this point.

My current situation is the fact I cannot find my HDD in the partitioning part. I've left a completely unallocated 390.63MB, formatted it in NTFS and exFat I believe. None have helped. The only thing I can pick up is my 8GB USB.

I don't know much about UEFI, and was considering that as a possible problem, but scanning multiple forums hasn't helped much. With the USB, I get stuck at the very first line if I boot without UEFI.

I have also switched all of the options available in my BIOS for my SATA and have had no luck(some simply stop detecting them in the BIOS after reboot)

I've tried the following ISOs, and checked the MD5 sums on all of them, which came back good.
Linux Mint 12 Lisa(DVD & USB)
Fedora 16 Livecd(DVD & USB)
Fedora 16 Installation DVD(DVD & USB)

Any suggestions will be welcome. Windows just isn't for me.

Update: I switched to AHCI yet again, and turned SATA ports 5 and 6 to IDE. I put in another HDD and left it on AHCI, and switched my DVDROM and active HDD to ports 5 and 6. It picked up my HDD on the IDE port now. Not exactly sure why it wouldn't pick it up in port 1, but does in 5&6. This may be fixed, I'll update later.
