So, I'm thinking of taking a college class for fun in "Linux networking and system administration" Any pointers, pitfalls, advice & things to read up on would be much welcomed. Linux is just one of my many hobbies...:D

Uhm ... make sure they don't require you to submit assignments and exams in Microsoft Office proprietary formats?

OpenOffice/LibreOffice 3.1 or better seem to handle MS formats pretty well. I recently had to produce documents in OOo for people who only have MS Office, and the formatting was spot on. Of course it helps to have TrueType fonts installed.
Check the course literature to see if it contributes to a recognised certification - might as well make it count for something. Unless it's just to pick up chicks, but then you'd be doing pottery, or life drawing, not Linux ... ;)

I had a good laugh over that also seeing as i'm divorced any woman 21 & over is fair game. You can tell what my chosen profession is by my handle.. in my 23rd yr as an Avionics Tech. Some of our test equip is backboned off Debian but, I have more fun with fedora releases.
