trying to install fedora 16

I downloaded and burned .iso cd (and DVD).

when I restart the computer with the CD in it I get something like :

caldera ....
A):


and it waits for me to type in something.. but I don't know what next.
I couldn't find any thing like that in the fedora installation guide..

What did you download and from where?

downloaded form fedoraproject.org (http://fedoraproject.org/en/). from the "download now" button.

You do mention "the CD". There is no installation CD for Fedora 16, but there is a Live CD. Use the installation DVD to install Fedora.

No idea where "caldera" is coming from.

burn the cd in a slow speed because sometimes problems may happen!

How did you burn (http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/16/html/Burning_ISO_images_to_disc/sect-Burning_ISO_images_to_disc-Burning.html) the discs? What do you see on the disc when you list the contents under Windows?

go to one of the mirrors & d/l & burn the iso its 3.5 gigs plus.. i did on a 4.7 gig dvd i never messed with "live Versions" any way mine burns at max 16x & i use burn protection & read back functions

O.K. You might have done this already - still - Did you check the image checksums and compared it to the ones of the fedora website? Just wondering if there was a problem in the downloaded file ...

I didn't see these pages of validations..

I just sha256 the file and it came out right. I'll test it again later today and let you know how I did.
