It eventually boots for me in a kvm vm. It has 3d in vm but there are some mouse issues and everything is very slow but it is progress with 3d.

i know i get a systemd error along wwith a Nouveau DRM problem ( which spits out a lot of giberish crap ) . and there was 1 other i cant remember what it was.

yup, I got the systemd error also. I tried to boot it to runlevel 3 to try and hunt things down but putting a 3 at the end of the kernel line didn't work and it booted to runlevel 5 :(

Looks like today's builds failed. (20120121.11) I am looking forward to some of the new features for F17. Hope we get a good build in the next few days.

yeah i sort of gathered they would of failed . i have my doubts BTRFS will make it as a feature by default ) from what i have seen as in Feature wise for F17 its not that exciting IMO. i'd wait till Monday or Tuesday to download a newer Nightly, perhaps they'll have those Bugs fixed i mentioned and you also. if not i will report them in Bugzilla

there's been No word from Josef Bacik to say what the update status is of btrfs let alone a working file system check for it. though i think i did read ages ago there was one in GIT? or something like that just isnt complete yet

No consistency check and recovery tool

As of January 2012, the planned filesystem check (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fsck) program has not been released. This means that it is currently possible to corrupt a btrfs filesystem and lose all files if your machine crashes or loses power on disks that don't handle flush requests correctly. Under Limitations

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Btrfs

this makes me wonder, why did FESCO approve a feature till they knew if there was a working fsck in it yet :bang:
