Hi,
I just finished installing FC3 on a dual pentium Dell 2200 server.
Both 2.6.9-1.667 and 2.6.9-1.667smp kernels were installed by the default installation.

The problem is that if I boot from the 2.6.9-1.667smp the computer boots up fine without any errors and then reboots itself in about 4 minutes. If I booth from 2.6.9-1.667 the machine runs fine without any problems.

So for now I am running 2.6.9-1.667 without the smp, but since I have the second CPU in their I would like to use that as well.

Is this a problem with the kernel or could it be something else in the fedora config that I have to look at. The server originally was running W2k with both processors without any problems so I'm pretty sure its not a hardware issue.

Here is the config
Dual Pentium II 333Mhz CPU's
512 MEGS Ram
18 GIG Ultrafast SCSI (running off of builtin adaptec controller)
PCI Ethernet 10/100 Card
PCI Soundblaster Live card
PCI Matrox ATA 133 IDE Interface (2 200 GIG Maxtors)

How do I go about troubleshooting this ? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

thanks

The problem has been solved. I noticed that their was a new kernel update available 2.6.9-1.678
So I updated to the smp version and the server is been running without any issues for two days now. :D
