Is Dag & Freshrpms the only ones with 64 pacakges?

Didn't look like livna, fedora-us, newsrpms, had any.

It seems so. Typically repositories that do have 64 bit have a x86_64 directory alongside the i386 one like the Fedora download site (http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/3/).

that kind of bites :(

Since I'm new to this whole 64 bit bag, is it safe to assume that an rpmbuild on any .src.rpm will create the binary's for x86_64? I would assume the .src.rpms are the same across the board, and that it would be the same as --target=i386/686/athlon but the default on 64 would use the correct compiler flags for 64 bit?

I'm not at home so I can't test it atm.
