CNN reports about Internet Explorers lost marketshare: http://cnnmobile.com/primary/_takrix-inteZ4uvo (sorry for this being a cellphone version link, CNN wrongly assumes that "birdbrowser" equals cellphone."


What effects will this have on the online eco system (if any)?

For one thing..

Maybe it will force web developers to fix their broken pages.

For years, web developers have put pages up that did not conform to the standards just so they would work on IE, which broke them for the other browsers that did conform to the standards.

In my opinion, IE losing market share is a good thing.
