I bother(ed) about 5 gb of 100 gb partition that went under the filesystem and thought to ask your numbers to vanish my doubts. I think that your comments will be very useful even for many others who will have just made a new partition and discovered that the filesystem takes quite much space under it.
The bigger partition is discribed, the better.
Leading questions:
1. Filesystem you use.
2. Partition size / used space / free space supposed to be / shown free space / under filesystem
3. How much space was meant for super-node? (tip - mkfs.ext3 parameter -m)
4. Any other comments (i.e. what parameters you chose to format that partition + what for do you use that partition - different usage needs different optimisation).
------------------------------------------------
My stats:
1. ext3
2. 100 gb / 58 gb / 100 - 58 = 42 gb / 37 gb / 42 - 37 = 5 gb
3. 0 % => 0 gb
4. I used the command '#mkfs.ext3 -m 0 -T largefile /dev/hda2' to partition that partition. I use this partition for mp3s (half of this partition), videos (not very much, don't collect them), documents and some other data. I used the largefile parameter because of the huge collection of drum and bass mixes (those mp3s).
Thank you in advance!
