Not sure this is the right place to post this so forgive me if I'm in the wrong section. I have read through all the documentation concerning getting involved with getting involved with the Fedora Project. I cant really seem to be able to determine what can or needs to be packaged. I have been monitoring the email lists, and am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction of something I can package and get out there and get started. Thanks y'all.

Have you looked to see if there is an orphaned package that you would like to maintain? There is quite a long list of orphaned packages out there. (orphaned packages are packages that for some reason or another, no longer has anyone to maintain it)

Link to orphaned packages:

https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/acls/orphans

Link to page explaining orphans and specifying how to claim ownership of an orphaned package:

http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Orphaned_package_that_need_new_maintainers

These orphaned packages have already been accepted to be included in Fedora. If you wish to add a new package, then it's a much different process involved in that.
