When trying to connect to a VPN I get this error message:
"VPN connection 'blah' failed because the VPN service failed to start."
Is this a problem with my VPN or is that a problem on machine?
If it is a problem on my machine what on earth do I do?
I am running Fedora 15 64bit and as of 17/09/2011 at 11:24 GMT all software is up to date.

Dave

It's difficult to tell from the information given. Please don't take this wrong but look at http://catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html
which is good for newcomers, who aren't yet sure of what information is necessary.
In this case:
How did you try to connect.
What sort of VPN server is it, e.g., Cisco, MS, or something else?

Ahh no problem.
Right I am attempting to connect to a PPTP VPN (from StrongVPN).
I tried setting it up through Network Settings (by adding a connection).

(I suspect your double post is from using Chrome with Fedora--at least when I use it with Fedora it shows up as a double post).
Ok, I can't help with that one, but hopefully, someone else can. (I only know about using vpnc with Cisco VPNs).

Probably, I get that a lot.
No problem. I hope someone can.

i think you should contact Strong VPN support department and they might help you properly configure the service.
I'm using ibVPN but i had no issues until now http://www.ibvpn.com

The VPN works on other computers.
