So, I bit the bullet as I threatened elsewhere and I must say %^&$%^^ As this is a family forum I will refrain. I've been installing Fedora since FC5 and I have to say this was the most troublesome install I've ever had. :Y
To cut a long story short (It took FIVE installs before I figured it out) every time I installed the nVidia drivers the thing would hang on boot! I had installed the PAE kernel and disabled Selinux before installing the drivers even!
Went back to a previous kernel and it booted to fallback mode and I noticed that xorg.conf hadn't been overwritten by the installer. renamed it and renamed the nvidia-xorg.conf, rebooted and there it was in all its gory glory.
No time to install any software or codecs. There I was thinking I'd be up and running in an hour or so! Yeah, right! :dis:
