Blinking cursor when booting install CD

Hi,

Can anyone help as I am having trouble booting the install CD for Fedora 15? As soon as I select a boot option I get a grey screen with a blinking cursor even if I pick the option to use basic video. I have tried using the intel_iommu=off parameter which makes no difference.

I also seem to have a similar issue when trying to install Ubuntu 11.04 on this machine too.

I am using a Athlon x2 5200+, 5GB Ram, ATI 3850 if that's any help.

I edited the boot perameters to use "acpi=off noapic" without the quotes and this seemed to work even though when booting there were a couple of errors. I will post back when I have completed the install if I encounter any issues.

Installed fine and now just need to get WIFI working!
