Hello everyone, I've just joined your forums and am looking to installing Fedora 15 (or 16) in the near future.
I have an old Dell Optiplex 170L mini tower pc with 256MB of RAM. I attempted to install Fedora 15 with LXDE from the live CD I downloaded from your website. Upon booting I discovered that there was no option in the boot menu to install from that point, I had to load Fedora and the desktop in order to carry out the installation. Only to find that Fedora 15 requires a minimum of 640MB (I think it said) of RAM to install it.
I know it mentions minimum system requirements on your website but I assumed that only referred to the default download (i.e. Gnome3). I also assumed that for the LXDE distro minimum RAM would be much less. I was advised on another forum (Ubuntu) to install using the net install "version" however for this Dell computer I don't have a network card to connect to internet.
I am asking for the developers of version 16 if you can alter the installation procedure for pc's like mine in order to be able to install it on older machines. Would it be of interest to you?
Dave
