View Full Version : development packages of Xlib/Xfree86

I am trying to install Wine 1.2.3 not the 1.3.24 because it has a regression bug but I am getting this error
checking for X... no
configure: error: X development files not found. Wine will be built
without X support, which probably isn't what you want. You will need to install
development packages of Xlib/Xfree86 at the very least.
Use the --without-x option if you really want this.
I do not understand which packages it wants me to install on Fedora15? Can anybody help me?

And installing Wine 1.2.3 really did the trick!
Why in Fedora it is not possible using yum to install the stable Wiine 1.2.3 version but automatically the development version of 1.3.4?

have you checked to see if your regression bug was fixed in 1.3.25?
I'm not sure when they will get it in the Fedora repo, though.
(here is the changelog for 1.3.25:
