Just wondering what everyone considers a respin. I have my own Respin called Synergy Linux, I have changed multiple things with it though. I have my own forked version of Anaconda (for 512M Support) and Yum (for respin version support). I have started porting tools from other distributions, etc.. but I still rely on Fedora repos for a majority of packages. I have thought about expanding my repos to cover a majority of the packages I need, but still using fedora src packages as a base (though split some libs etc like Mandriva in the specs, to get a much leaner image) will at any point I no longer be considered a respin? Or do I just continue calling myself so. Not that I mind, I like Fedora, but then again if I start to put more time in this I kinda want my own identity. I'm interested in everyone else's thoughts on this.

If I understood Fedora rules correctly if you use Fedora packages, and only rearange them in different order and make an ISO out of them then that it a respin.
If you take any package outside official Fedora repos you are making a Remix and not a Respin.
BTW, would you consider joining forces with our Fusion Linux Fedora remix? http://fusionlinux.org
Cheers,
Valent.

A respin is just a never version of one of the officially approved spins, say with the 'updates' repo enabled.
A remix is a spin with packages that are not in Fedora or that are different from the Fedora versions. Basically you can call everything a remix as long as you follow Fedora's trademark guidelines.
This being said both Synergyand Fusion Linux are remixes (but not [re]spins!), as long as they don't violate Fedora's trademarks.

Thanks I forgot all about the ReMix aspect, I will start calling myself as such instead of ReSpin. I think it sounds better anyways ;)
