Lo there,
I'm working on a little python application (6-7 py files, no translation, eggs, or so on), and i've got to the point of wanting to rpm package it. I'm looking for someone with a knowledge of rpm packaging and some python knowledge who can advise on where things should go on the system end, how python is packaged generally, package portability and so on. I've read the fedora packaging guides and the python packaging guides but it tends to relate to python libraries and such rather than end user applications. It's also likely that my python knowledge is lacking in terms of best practice towards build out as much as my packaging knowledge is lacking.
Is anyone available on email or better freenode irc who can answer some basic questions and give a newbie a helping hand ? I've got a initial package made of sorts, but I'm pretty certain its not doing things "the right way", and perhaps my python code itself could be altered better to streamline the packaging process into a more industry standard way.
Just need some sort of reviewing arrangement with someone who can point me in the right direction and dispense some wisdom.
