Hello!
I'm new to the Fedora O/S!!
I started using linux around 1 year ago, when my new laptop, which came with vista needed all kinds of installation/updating things, most of it stuff by laptop packard bell.. I went outside, and when I came back 2 hours later, it was still not finished, so I got mad and format all and installed Ubuntu.
Really liked ubuntu, especially software center. But I think the userfriendlyness is what caused me to uninstall it. It was always setting things back how i not liked it (e.g. screen resolution to 1024x768 instead of 1280x800 which i told it to), so I got annoyed of it and installed antiX (i tested all small distro like puppy, slitaz and some others i cant remember, antix was fastest).
antiX was really really cool! I bought ssd for laptop, and it booted in 5 seconds :O. With antiX (lxde version) I learned to tweak and modify all kinds of small stuff.. was really fun and educative. But getting things done was not so much easy as with ubuntu, but i had fun so i kept it.
Then like, after half year of use maybe, things changed. I go to university and didnt had much time :(. I became really annoying when things broke, and after long day at school i dont want to fix it.. So i first just reinstall system every week, but becomes annoying too.
So friend of mine says he happy with apple pc, and i go to apple store. they treat me like idiot and try to convince me why apple is the best with no virus and do what you want.. Then I look at the price, and laptop 999$ with 60$ mouse, worse spec than bargain bucket 1 year old laptop, i went outside of the door..
So I was looking for new distro. I tryed openSuse, but didnt like much.
THen i found fedora, looked really good! not 4.5gb like suse, just really simple and has lxde version too! which means favourite desktop enviroment default installed and made well by trusted people!
I installed it and first time it runs, it was like a dream. everything works cool and shiny, lots of software, cant believe how easy to use and first hours the os feels fun like a game!! i run it now like 1 week, and when i close laptop, i know when i open, it will be running like when i closed. really good feeling!!
only thing i not like so much is lovelock theme.. lxde login screen looks really ugle with it, so i fix, but thats only thing, rest is really really good!! also installing flash (x65) for firefox was annoying, but got it solved, so np. oh, also rhythmbox dont work with all my .midi music songs :( i convert all to .ogg use timidity++, but 20gb hdd is almost full...
