Hi!

I am using Fedora Core 2, and a ZyXEL Prestige 650 HW33 modem/router.

The problem is that webpages wont load before 1 or 2 minutes of "resolving host"

Pinging the pages works fine, no packetloss.

I am not using DCHP. I am using the nameservers from my ISP.

2 computers is behind the router, 1 Windows and 1 Linux (fedora core 2)
No problems on the Windows machine.

ISP is Tele2 ADSL 1024/256

resolve.conf contains:
nameserver 193.216.1.10
nameserver 193.216.69.10

Any ideas?

I was having the same problem with it taking a long time to resolve host. I fixed it by adding the following line to /etc/modprobe.conf

alias net-pf-10 off

Hope it helps you too.

I've been having the same problem, and I too am using the ZyXel router.

Adding the above-mentioned code to the modeprobe.conf file didn't work for me, however. :(

Would be interested in hearing about any other fixes anyone might have. TIA

I have fc2_64 installed on an AMD athlon 64. I have tried to get linux to detect a 3c595 3Com ethernet card. I do this by going to nework config and clicking on "Hardware" then I add the 3c595 from the list of ethernet adapters. However, when I try to activate I get the following error:
"Determining IP information for eth0...failed"

I am at my wits end here. Can someone please help?

Thanks

Sorry, but that didn't help me...
