View Full Version : Strange display bug with F15 XFCE spin...duplicate black window frame?

I just installed the new Xfce spin of F15 and the nVidia driver for my GTX 470 as per leigh123linux's guide. It seems like everything is working fine except for one very annoying display bug. Say I have my terminal open on the right side of the screen and then I drag the edge of the window to resize it. As I am resizing it a black box appears at the top-left corner of the screen and grows along with my terminal (as I resize it). If I drag another window over this black area it disappears as the window drags across.

Is this a new problem? Can anyone help me out here?

I had that problem as well - GT430 and using Nvidia binary.

Gnome 3 was too slow.

Moved to KDE which is a lot better than I expected. Last used it 6 year ago.

Probably time to submit a bug report, but I did see a similar one. This appears to be related to the terminal program itself, as other emulators such as Terminator (which is pretty cool btw) seem to work fine.

Thanks for reporting the bug. This is an odd one. ;)

it also happens on a GT220 with the rpmfusion nvidia driver, but only with xfce-terminal as you said.

OK, so I install the LXDE spin and the same damn thing happens with lxterminal. I'm about to test Terminator now.

EDIT: So Terminator made me happy and didn't exhibit this bug. Now I am just curious what is wrong with these 'light weight' terminals.
