I'm a relative linux newbie - I've been primarily using Ubuntu for the past five or so years for my desktop.
I installed the latest build of F15 this morning plus all my post-installs (rpmfusion, codecs, flash, fedoraplus, gnome-tweak, etc) and a strange thing just happened. I was changing my background and opted for a solid background (I don't like a "busy" desktop)... after watching my screen freeze completely, display a full white background (all I could see was my mouse cursor), I got the black screen saying that there was a serious problem and to log in again. I have now logged in and rebooted half a dozen times and I get the same thing - I'm able to get to the login screen but as soon as I click on the login button and G3 is trying to load, I get the white screen followed by the black "serious problem" notification with a friendly "Login" button... and then the cycle begins again.
So, I am now unable to login to F15 and all I was trying to do was switch to a solid background. I have reattached my ubuntu drive to send this post... Any suggestions besides reinstalling again would be wonderful!
Edit: I am using the nouveau drivers although I have an nvidia card.

Can anyone confirm this problem?
Or is it possible that this problem was caused by something I installed afterwards?

Update: I have reinstalled FC15 without installing any updates or additional software, tried to change the desktop background to a solid color and, after a few seconds, got a black screen that said "Oh no! Something has gone wrong. A problem has occurred that the system can't recover. Please log out and try again." There was a Logout button at the bottom (not login as I previously posted). Tried logging in again, several times, with the same result.
I'm not sure if this is related, but during the install (from the i386 dvd), I got a dependency error stating that system-backgrounds-gnome was not available.
I would not suggest you try changing the system background to solid unless you know how to break out of this cycle. I will have to reinstall again :(
