Kind of reminds me of a virus, you know? It replicates itself if it finds that it's been tampered with?

Yeah, luckily it's all open so I hope all browsers will figure out the way to deal with it.

I ran few tests, apart of Flash cookies of course (apparently Adobe has promised to provide easier way to deal with them so that they can be controlled via browsers), you can get rid of that pest by clearing all cached data before closing the browser - but not sure whether that'll do it on Windows. But how many people clear all their browsing session data every time?

Well, you could link ~/.macromedia to the cookie monster hiding in /dev/null

It can eat an almost infinite number of flash cookies...

that just helps with flash cookies (btw, better privacy extension is a better way of stopping them than using /dev/null), evercookie is much tougher to stop
