Hi all im a newbie and wanted to learn more about Linux. Right now my rig is an Asus L5000c series by default running M$ XP sp1, I would like to dual boot my laptop in order for me to continue my quest for knowledge where ever I may be!
My questions are :
Is FC1 or FC2 stable enough for me to use or should I use RH9 instead?
How about Hardware Support will there be much problem?
Your response is highly appreciated
Thanks ;)

I am using FC2+XP on L4000H (Before I used RH8,9 and Sun JDS). I think FC2 is better than FC1, because it uses kernel 2.6 and there is no problem with LCD monitor.
By default FC2 does not recognise the LCD monitor, you should configure it. You can do on installation by selecting "Generic LCD Monitor". (Of course this was on my laptop, there might be no such problems with your's)
On hardware support, since I am using with LAN, I didn't work on modem, USB Disks,... But USB mouse and touchpad is OK.

I'm using FC1 on an Asus L5000c. It works great! All hardware is recognized, you just have to manually install the gigabit ethernet card driver (from SysKonnect). I believe that if you install FC2, even the ethernet card is configured by Anaconda (the setup application).
With FC1, the only missing feature is the wireless nic. I don't think there's a native driver for our wireless card already (there was some discussion about 3Com not releasing the sources nor launching a binary). But there are several wrappers available to use the windows drivers under Linux, check out SourceForge if you really need wireless connectivity. I can live without it.
