# To customise the XKB settings to suit your keyboard, modify the

# Option "XkbModel" "pc102"
# If you have a US Microsoft Natural keyboard, you can use:
# Option "XkbModel" "microsoft"
#
# Then to change the language, change the Layout setting.
# For example, a german layout can be obtained with:
# Option "XkbLayout" "de"
# or:
# Option "XkbLayout" "de"
# Option "XkbVariant" "nodeadkeys"
#
# If you'd like to switch the positions of your capslock and

# Option "XkbOptions" "ctrl:nocaps"

My guess is you need more memory for your video card.
How old is your system?

You could try a generic driver "vesa" instead of "i740" in your xorg.conf to see if this helps.

Make sure to choose the correct vendor and model for your monitor.

Also select 16bit instead of 24bit.
