View Full Version : no wireless, nvidia driver error

IM a newbie to linux. os/2 warp no problem. i just installed fc2. this is my first run at linux. it does not reconize the built in wirless on my hp zd7260 laptop. also, i am having probles installing my nvidia drivers. I installed a new kernel, reinstalled the drivers and checked the bios. Still get black screen booting to the new kernel. What to do. the error message says

Fatal server error:
> no screens found

it does not reconize the built in wirless on my hp zd7260 laptop.
You will need to find out exactly which wireless chipset it uses and do some research. It may not be supported yet, but http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/ may work with it.

the error message says

Fatal server error:
> no screens found
This means your xorg.conf file is incorrect. You'll need to double-check that against the original one (you did keep a backup, right?) and figure out where you mis-configured it.
