Howdy all,

I have a problem with my Promise SATAII150 TX4 card with 4 SATA WD 250GB HDs (just bought). I'm running FC2 with 2.6.8-1 kernel. When I boot up the computer, I see a message from the card saying that it detected the 4 HDs, the CMOS settings see the card, and when I try to install WinXP and load the 3rd party driver (that came on the diskette), the installer sees all 4 SATA HDs.

BUT, when I do a 'modprobe sata_promise' while in FC2, the new devices do not show up. I am supposed to get /dev/sda, /dev/sdb, and so on correct?

I have sata_promise, libata, scsi_mod, and sg modules loaded into the kernel.

'fdisk -l' also yields no results.

I also checked the /proc/scsi/scsi file and I see 'Attached devices:' and nothing else.

'lspci' gives me "02:08.0 Unknown mass storage controller: Promise Technology, Inc.: Unknown device 3d18 (rev 02)" for my Promise SATAII150 TX4 card.

/proc/pci:

Bus 2, device 8, function 0:
Class 0180: PCI device 105a:3d18 (rev 2).
IRQ 10.
Master Capable. Latency=72. Min Gnt=4.Max Lat=18.

If someone has a solution this problem please share! I would really appreciate it.

Or else, I may be forced to install WinXP -- and I don't wanna do that! (><)

Thanks,

Fuzz
