F15 and 2011 Apple MBP

Hello there.

I am trying to install the Fedora 15 (alpha from the webpage link) in 2011 MBP, and it hangs at the bootup.

I don't even see the boot up menu. It just shows the black blank screen at the boot..

Is there anything I can do to bypass this or troubleshoot this?

I amusing 2011 15" w/ 2.3Ghz, 8GB, 2 SSDs, and booted with external USB powered DVD-ROM.

Are you using the live cd or the DVD? I haven't managed to boot into Fedora 15 alpha after installing, but installation worked (MBP 2011 13 inch)

Does the crash occur when booting into the live CD, or booting when you installed using the live cd?

You could try 2 (3) things:

- Install Refit on OS X, a custom bootloader. Refit will give you all boot options available, including the CD/DVD if it is inserted.

- Try booting with the Beta RC2 DVD

or the third option: wait for the beta (April 19th)

It crashes at when booting into the live CD.

I can also try the beta RC2 I suppose..

I didn't install the refit. Did you install it when you install on your machine?

Seems like I have to re-install the optical bay to boot anything other than osx..

AFAIK, this issue of not being able to install other than the optical bay applies to USB also.

But I could give it a try when I get a chance.
