This video is a nice reminder what kind of company they are: http://youtu.be/44w-RYurbN4

I feel like puking everytime I see it, because it reminds me when I went to their "recruitment seminar", which is just a fancy word for group interview. Something lazy companies use as they can't be arsed talking to each individual person to really find the perfect employee.

Everything is exciting and wow and so awesome! You kind of feel like you are joining a cult, which is why some call it that.

I've owned a Mac and it did the job I needed it to do, but the OS is becoming very bloated with features. And I just can't stand the Apple attitude.

To play Devil's advocate here for a minute. KDE and GNOME are becoming just as bloated. ;)

Haha! Fair enough. ;)

But I do feel you have more control over those features (not so much now in GNOME3) in general when using most DEs on Linux.

There already a pretty slick theme for GNOME3. Forget that on Mac.

If you don't want to use the Mail app in Mac OS X you can delete it easy, but when they release a new update it's back on your Mac again.

Yeah, mine too. She hasn't gotten it yet. Actually, some student abandoned their iPad at the school where she works, but that's an old iPad. She wants the iPad 2, but even in NYC, apparently when they get them, scalpers pay people to stay in line, and then sell them for inflated prices on ebay.

Don't know what she'll use it for, but at least she's getting the cheapest one.

Wonder if you could use one as a drinks tray? iPad 2 for iBeer 3 or 4 or... :p

Still debating whether to get a "new" Android phone on Yahoo Auctions, unlock it and stick in a b-mobile data only SIM for 13,200 yen for 7 month's use...

"Hey, want to make $5?"
"Sure"
"Sign this NDA"
"OK"
"Now go stand in that line for 15 hours"

:C

In NYC it's probably about $50-$100 to stand in line right now.

Did you know that monkeys, magpies, and humans are attracted to shiny things? Apple knows. :D

Apple Ipad 2 is an Ebay winner:

THE FLOGGER OF SHINY TOYS made in China by underpaid workers slaving away in huge factory towns, Apple might have run out of its stocks of Ipad 2 tablet, although it has not admitted it, but the market for the touchscreen drinks trays is running wild, at least on the online auction site Ebay.

There the market for out of stock Ipad 2 tablets is very buoyant, and some models are selling for as much as $400 (£250) over the retail price.

I wish the Linux community would just STFU and swallow their attitude and arrogance as well. Say what you will about Apple, but Linux has its fair share of fanboys.

I just bought a ZTE Blade Android 2.2 phone (Orange San Francisco in the UK) new unused on auction without a SIM or two-year contract and when it comes I'm going to unlock it and buy a seven month data SIM for 13,200 and have something that slips in my pocket and doesn't need to be lugged around in a bag like an iPad!

Do people actually use facebook? I've looked at it but it has not seemed worthwhile joining. After watching the film on the plane in January I thought "what a bunch of *ssh*l*s!" No way would I trust my private info with people like that!

There's all sorts of good reasons to use facebook, especially if you're promoting a business. I believe I read that about 70 percent of prostitutes now have a facebook page.

Now that's someone you really don't want to be friended by .... :p

Didn't CraigsList's business shrink by a third when they banned "adult services" from their listings? Something like that, anyway.

I don't know, but it seems as if many of them simply moved over to massage, with various keywords that clue in those who seek them.

I remember my wife looking for a massage and me laughing quite a bit (English isn't her first language, but she was wondering why a young Japanese masseuse with magic hands, per the ad, was posing in such clothes.)

You have to be careful. I had my doctor recommend a good and "clean" massage place just to be on the safe side. It turned out to be a great massage - I was so relaxed I could hardly walk afterwards (and no double entendre there, it was just a massage).
