View Full Version : Fuzzy fonts on the gnome-shell task-bar?

Hello,

I've managed to change font-hinting on gnome 3 desktop (using Fedora 15 alpha), so all my fonts look pretty good now apart from gnome-shell's black ugly taskbar, where they are ugly (fuzzy and not hinted).

Does new panel uses its own font rendering settings?

See attached screenshot - on my laptop's screen it looks much worse (grey text hinted on black background).

Greetings,
Marek

how did you change font-hinting?

This definitely needs to be addressed. The default font either needs to be tweaked with a better hinting setting, or they need to included something in the settings that will allow us to alter the fonts and setup hinting as we see fit.

I've changed font settings (hinting etc.) in:

org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.xsettings

then I've selected custom font in:

org.gnome.desktop.interface

seems to work ok in applications etc, but not on the top panel / gnome-shell windows / elements.
